Ann Hendrickson Goodrich, of Potomac, MD, passed away on Thursday, September 12th, 2024, at the age of 86. She is survived by her devoted children; Laurann Elizabeth Goodrich, Katherine Hale Goodrich (Bruce Ragusa), and Andrew Gabriel Goodrich (Elizabeth Foos); her dear brother, William (Connie) Hendrickson; and cherished grandchildren, Elizabeth Owen Keith (Benjamin Knight) and Ferol Webb (Alba) Schoonmaker. She is also survived by her beloved cat, Ezra. Ann was predeceased by her loving parents, Doris Simons and William Harwell Hendrickson.
Ann grew up in Ruston, LA but lived in Baton Rouge, LA for much of her adult life. She had a Bachelor's degree in English and a Ph.D in Psychology. She practiced as a clinical neuropsychologist for over 20 years, specializing in diagnosis and treatment of children with ADHD. She was politically active as a Democrat in local, state and national elections, and was a voracious consumer of news and books of all kinds. Up until her death, she read two to three books a week, with a special affinity for English literature, science and politics. She also loved dinosaurs, chickens and good southern cooking. Most of all, Ann was completely devoted to her children, and was a beautiful, generous mother. She was absolutely hilarious, witty and warm, and left a lasting impression on all who encountered her.
