Harold Cooper

Harold Cooper, of Columbia, Maryland, passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at the age of 85. He is survived by his beloved wife, Joanna Cooper; his loving children, Leah Cooper, Laurie Cooper, Mark Cooper, and daughter-in-law Julie Cooper; his cherished grandchildren, Jessica Cooper, Sarah Cooper, and Matthew Cooper; and his many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother and five sisters; and his parents, Ruth and Arthur Cooper.

Harold was born in Matador Texas on April 21, 1940 and moved to Maryland with his wife and young son in his early 20s. He was a loving spouse, father, and grandfather. He was passionate about nature and the environment, and was often the happiest while hiking on a trail, camping, or visiting his favorite places most especially the Grand Canyon and Shenandoah National Parks.

The family is holding a private service at Serenity Ridge Natural Burial Cemetery and Arboretum in Windsor Mill, Maryland on June 13, 2025.
