Josephine Theodora Aikins-Afful (neè Brown) graced the world with her presence on May 16,1940 in Accra, Ghana.

She was such a great helper to her parents and a loving big sister and daughter. After graduating from St. Monica Secondary school, she had a promising career working at the bank until she took the adventurous move to join her high school sweet heart Nathaniel in the US. They married, she pursued studies at Morgan State and gave birth to three daughters: Viola, Aimeè (who bore her a granddaughter) & Iris. After working in the home many years, Josephine began a career at Visa International in customer service for over 20 years. After retiring, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends at the senior center & taking classes there. She really enjoyed learning Spanish (often wanting to practice with everyone) and crocheting, receiving many compliments on the items she made for her loved ones.

She leaves to mourn her daughters Ms. Viola & Ms. Iris Aikins-Afful, granddaughter Ms. Khadesia Morris, brother Dr. Emmanuel Joseph Peter Brown III & sister Mrs. Kate Ackah, nieces Mrs Eunice Birtum, Mrs Pamela Willison, Dr. Dorcas Owusu-Yianoma, Ms. Eunice Aikins-Afful, Ms. Anita-Afful, Ms. Mame Morkoah Ackah, Ms. Yaba Ackah, Mrs. Akasi Yawson, Ms. Sarah and nephew Mr. Michael Brown. She was preceded in death by her loving father and mother Mr. Emmanuel Joseph Peter Brown II and Mrs. Winifred Brown (neè Bannerman-Martin), loving husband and daughter Dr. Nathaniel Aikins-Afful and Ms. Aimeè Bailey (neè Aikins-Afful), loving brothers Mr. Charles Brown and Mr. Frederick Erwin Peter Brown.

A public visitation will be held on Thursday, September 3rd, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Eclipse Funerals Chapel, 8900 Reisterstown Road, Pikesville, MD 21208. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 4th, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis Episcopal Parish, 2216 Pot Spring Road, Timonium, MD 21093.
