Kathy Williams, a devoted servant of her faith and community, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 14, 2024, at 77 years old in Columbia, Maryland. She leaves behind a legacy of unwavering faith, compassion, and dedication to those around her.
Kathy was born in Stoughton, MA, where she spent her formative years. She attended Cardinal Spellman High School before furthering her education at North Eastern University, earning an associate's degree in science, and later at the University of Massachusetts, Boston, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree.
In 1983, Kathy embarked on a career as a dental office manager in Randolph, MA, a role she held steadfastly for over three decades until her retirement. She found great fulfillment in her work, particularly in caring for patients and fostering a welcoming environment in the office.
Outside of her professional life, Kathy was deeply committed to her faith and church community. She was an active member of Crossroads Church of the Nazarene in Maryland, having previously attended the South Weymouth Church of the Nazarene in Massachusetts. Her faith was central to her life, bringing her immense peace and joy.
Kathy's interests were diverse and reflected her curious mind and generous spirit. She had a passion for memorizing Bible verses, and her proficiency in sign language allowed her to connect with others in meaningful ways. She was also fascinated by geography and British history, often exploring these subjects with enthusiasm.
Above all, Kathy will be remembered for her unwavering faith and her dedication to serving others. Her kindness and gentle spirit touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Kathy Williams is survived by her loving son, David (Ming-Chun) Williams; caring siblings, Mary (Bob) McAuley, Jimmy (Marcia) Farley, Ginger Wakelin, Lorrie (Charles) Emmons, and Kenny (Mary) Farley; dear sister-in-law, Karen Farley; adoring grandchildren, Claire Williams and Evan Williams; and many more loving family and friends. She was predeceased by her loving brother, Marty Farley; brother-in-law, Bruce Wakelin; sister-in-law, Eilish Farley; and devoted parents, Rachel and James Farley.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at Crossroads Church of the Nazarene, 2750 Rogers Ave, Ellicott City, MD 21043, on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at 11am. Public viewing will take place from 10:30 to 11am. Guests are invited to join family in a reception beginning at 12pm, interment to follow at 1pm at St. Johns Cemetery, Ellicott City, Maryland. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to World Vision, an organization that works to sponsor children in need, donations can be made online at worldvision.org, a donation in honor of Kathy's lifelong commitment to helping others would be a great way to honor her.
Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
