In Loving Memory of Larry Albert Smith July 30, 1959 – July 13, 2026
It is with profound sadness and unwavering love that we announce the passing of Larry Albert Smith, who entered into eternal rest on Monday, July 13, 2026, at the age of 66. Born on July 30, 1959, in San Fernando, Trinidad, Larry later made his home in Owings Mills, Maryland, where he built a life centered on faith, family, and love.
Larry was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose life reflected compassion, generosity, and an unwavering trust in God. His faith was the foundation of his life, and he had a remarkable gift for sharing God's Word with others. Whether through encouragement, prayer, or conversation, Larry's desire was always to uplift those around him and point them toward hope in Christ.
Growing up in San Fernando, Trinidad, Larry attended San Fernando Boys R.C. School, Pleasantville Junior Secondary School, and Pleasantville Senior Comprehensive School. Throughout his life, he enjoyed playing football (soccer), cricket, and running. He also loved to travel, creating cherished memories on family vacations that brought everyone together.
If there was one thing everyone knew about Larry, it was his love for good food—especially the delicious meals lovingly prepared by his wife, Patricia. He always looked forward to enjoying her cooking, and no dessert made him happier than a slice of traditional Trinidadian black cake. Those simple moments around the table were among the many ways he celebrated life and the people he loved.
Above all else, Larry's greatest joy was his family. He loved his children wholeheartedly and took great pride in watching them grow. His grandchildren brought endless smiles to his face, and he treasured every opportunity to spend time with them. His kindness, wisdom, humor, and steadfast love will remain with them forever.
Larry leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Patricia Smith; his loving mother, Shirley Smith: his devoted children, Aaron (Colleen) Smith, Jennelle (Brensley) Jordan, Shawn Smith, and Desirae Smith; his cherished grandchildren, Annie Jordan, Collin Timothy, Ariel Smith, and Ezra Smith; his loving siblings, Lisa Marie (Persad) Bissessar, Richard (Sherise) Smith, Roger (Anne Marie) Smith, Denyse Smith, Anthony Smith, Nadine Smith (Reynold) Sandy, Shannon Smith, and Marthus (Shayna) Smith; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were enriched by knowing him.
He was preceded in death by his beloved father, Albert Smith, and his dearly loved sister, Cathy Ann Percy.
Although our hearts are heavy with grief, we rejoice in knowing that Larry's faith carried him home to be with the Lord he faithfully served. His legacy of love, devotion to family, and commitment to sharing God's Word will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
"Well done, good and faithful servant." — Matthew 25:23
Larry will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
