Raymond Earl Clifton, Jr., of Ellicott City, Maryland, passed away on Saturday, October 17th, 2026, at the age of 70. He is survived by his devoted sister, Margaret (Harold) Hunter. He was predeceased by his loving parents, Raymond and Isabell Clifton.

Raymond found his greatest joy on the dance floor, building a career that reflected both his talent and his passion. As the owner of the beloved Starlight Ballroom in Ellicott City, he created a welcoming place for others to share his love of ballroom dance. He later went on to continue teaching at other ballrooms and was an instructor at Howard Community College for more than 20 years. Away from the studio, he made his living as an independent trucker and enjoyed the freedom of the open road, especially on a Harley Davidson.
